White-top testliner prices edge up in France

White-top testliner became more expensive in France in September, following up on previous increases introduced for brown recycled grades.

The trend on the French white-top testliner market in September was clear. Manufacturers were able to increase prices due to the market firming up again as well as the considerable narrowing of the price gap with brown grades. Prices will reportedly rise either for deliveries from the beginning of September or from the 9th of the month.

It appears that a factor contributing to this increase was the fact that some swing machines had recently been used to produce brown grades in light of the rise in prices and good demand in that market segment. Demand for white grades is usually described as normal and satisfactory.
