The woodfree coated paper segment in France continues to suffer setbacks when it comes to consumption. The first figures covering the trend in the overall market until May indicate that shipments were lower than last year by a middle single-digit percentage.
This is certainly in line with expectations, but also indicates that the hoped-for deceleration in the downturn is not evident at least up until now.
Notwithstanding this fact, higher prices are being sought because of the trend in costs. A few deals at higher prices had already been signed and sealed, sources said.
