Coated fine paper producers are facing challenges in the light of low pulp prices, but many a supplier is not willing to talk about renewed price cuts in Germany.

Woodfree coated papermills were reportedly a little busier in October and November. Paper producers expect paper machines to keep at least ticking over at normal levels for the season until the end of December.

Industry insiders noted that woodfree coated paper prices should stay the same as a result. Pressure was palpable, suppliers said. Yet, much was still half-baked. Many price talks for deliveries as of January were still in the early stages in the first week of December.
