It appears that the producers of recycled corrugated case material (CCM) failed again in May to implement their planned hike in Germany.
Following tough negotiations, the most recently targeted mark-up as of 1 or 15 May seems to have been abandoned in most cases. The situation was not quite clear yet for recycled containerboard with lower basis weights, said EUWID respondents.
Suppliers had simply been unable to convey the necessity of the mark-up, according to insiders in the corrugated industry. And supplies were not so tight that buyers were having trouble sourcing, they add.
