German cartonboard producer Buchmann has restarted its board machine which had been idled since 5 June.
The company had to interrupt production after a fire damaged the board machine's rewinder. The machine itself was not affected by the fire. The damaged rewinder could be repaired quickly.
Customer supply was secured from stocks at Weig's board mill in nearby Mayen.
Buchmann's board machine in Annweiler has a capacity to produce 260,000 tpy of recycled cartonboard. The company was sold to German Weig group in spring this year.
