McLaren Packaging acquires Glenhaze

Scottish corrugated sheet and packaging producer McLaren Packaging has acquired Bathgate-based protective packaging specialist Glenhaze Ltd. at an unknown purchase price.

Glenhaze is a market leader in the production of sustainable, paper-based, and innovative product protection for the spirit, glass manufacturing and e-commerce sectors.

McLaren Packaging will retain the Glenhaze premises in Bathgate, together with all 25 employees, Donald McLaren, Managing Director said.

He added: “Glenhaze offers a range of services that complement our broader product offering. With our capability to supply solid board divisions to the drinks sector, this acquisition adds another string to our bow and represents a logical addition to our overall product portfolio, enabling us to access a wider customer base with a broader range of products.”

Gary McCulloch, Glenhaze Managing Director, said: “I’m delighted by this venture with McLaren Packaging which will benefit Glenhaze and our clients through the provision of a seamless continuity of services, while giving them access to an even broader range of paper-based packaging products and look forward to working alongside the McLaren Packaging management team.”

McLaren Packaging comprises specialist paper and cardboard packaging companies McLaren Tubes, McLaren Corrugate, Blue Box Design, Compack Cartons and Interlok Divisions. Established in 1979 as an independent supplier of corrugated cases to the whisky industry, McLaren Packaging now has become a supplier to a wide range of customers, primarily from the drinks industry. The company employs more than 300 people, has sales revenues of £45m and operates seven sites in Central Scotland.
