Sappi Gratkorn boasts a leading position among the biggest woodfree coated paper mills in Europe with a capacity of 950,000 tpy of paper on two paper machines and 250,000 tpy of integrated pulp.
Due to the current market situation, the mill's poduction capacity is not fully covered and Sappi Gratkorn is taking temporay commercial downtime to adjust output to demand. This also applied to integrated pulp production, the company explained.
According to Sappi Europe, after an extended maintenance-related pulp mill shut down in April, more temporary downtime will be taken in the second quarter, reducing pulp output by approximately 20 per cent.
