The new price is "effective as from now", Swedish pulp producer announced.

Swedish pulp producer Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget (SCA) is announcing a price increase for deliveries of northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp to the European market. According to SCA, the NBSK prices is being lifted to $1,200/t and the new price is being implemented with immediate effect.

The company explained its move with the current situation on the pulp market which is characterised by increasing global demand and decreasing stocks at pulp producers.

SCA is producing NBSK pulp at the Östrand pulp mill in Timrå, Sweden with an annual production capacity of 900,000 t.

SCA is not the first NBSK pulp producer to announce price hike on the market in Europe. A couple of weeks ago, a few European softwood pulp producers have also announced a price increase for NBSK effective from 1 October.
