Severe flooding in northern France prompts paper and board mills to go offline

Persistent heavy rain in the north of France has led to severe flooding in the region of Pas-de-Calais. Many facilities were underwater, stocks were lost, and electrical systems were damaged. Paper and cartonboard mills located in Pas-de-Calais did not escape the flooding, either, and had to temporarily shut down operations.

For instance, one market insider told EUWID that the Blendecques cartonboard mill operated by Reno de Medici (RDM) had been offline since the middle of the second week of November, when the floods began....
