The markets in which Stora Enso is active are apparently livelier than expected. Due to sustained strong demand and a good performance so far, Stora Enso has raised its guidance for the current year.
The company now expects its full year 2022 operational Ebit guidance to be higher than the full-year 2021 of €1.53m. The previous guidance for 2022 was an operational Ebit approximately in line with 2021.
Stora Enso explained that during 2022, all of the company’s main markets had experienced continued strong performance, with increased visibility and predictability for the full year. The company has been experiencing strong underlying demand and commercial momentum across all six divisions and geographies. All divisions remained fully booked and there was still a tight supply and demand balance in many product categories, Stora Enso said. Furthermore, the second quarter had started with high selling prices, which had continued to mitigate inflationary pressures, it added.
Stora Enso produces, amongst others, packagin products, different papers such as publicatio, kraft or specialty papers, as well as wood products and biomaterials. The company operates the Packaging Materials, Packaging Solutions, Biomaterials, Wood Products, Forest and Paper divisions.
The company will publish its half-year report for January-June 2022 on 22 July.
