Arauco reports a further delay in the completion and commissioning of its new pulp line in southern Chile.

The last communicated schedule, which assumed a start of production in April or May, had to be changed again, the company confirms on request of EUWID. This is due to more delays in construction by one of the main construction companies involved in the MAPA project, according to Arauco.

The company now expects to start test operations of the new pulp mill in June this year. The BEK pulp line will have a capacity of 1.56 million tpy of pulp.
