After a rebuild period of about ten months, Belgian VPK Group has started up the paper machine for recycled corrugated case material (CCM) at its Alizay mill in France. The rebuilt PM is at the end of the start-up phase and already in full production mode, the company said.
It has a production capacity of about 500,000 tpy, which brings the company's total CCM capacity together with its other six paper mills to 2 million tpy, about 1 million tpy of which is in France. The papers produced on the new PM (basis weight range 70-135 g/m2) will be processed mainly in VPK's packaging plants in France and the UK, as well as in other European countries.
