Hygiene products supplier Wepa Professional has announced the acquisition of Blackburn-based Star Tissue UK.
Star Tissue, one of the UK's leading independent manufacturers of hygiene paper products, has 130 employees and runs three fully-automated production lines with a total converting capacity of 27,000 tpy at the Blackburn plant. The company will be renamed "Wepa Professional UK", while Khalid Saifullah, the current managing director, will continue in his role.
Wepa Professional, part of Wepa Group, offers hygiene solutions for companies and institutions in public spaces, e.g. hygiene paper, intelligent dispenser systems, air fresheners and hand sanitiser solutions. Wepa Group operates 13 production sites in Europe, among them the Bridgend, Wales, site, which is part of Wepa's Consumer Business unit.
