Amcor will start construction of its new paper mill at the Botany site in Sydney soon. The company has awarded Leighton Contractors with an AUS$110m contract for the design and construction of the Botany B9 Paper Mill. Since 2008, Amcor has been planning to construct a new mill adjacent to its current production facilities in Sydney, which are to be torn down. The project was delayed several times. Currently, the start-up for the 345,000 tpy lightweight recycled containerboard machine is scheduled for the first quarter 2012.
