BillerudKorsnäs will invest SEK260m to increase the production capacity of brown sack paper in Skärblacka in 2015.
The BillerudKorsnäs Board of Directors has approved a SEK260m investment for sack paper machine 9 at the Skärblacka production unit. The investment will increase the capacity of the machine by 20,000 tpy to approximately 180,000 tpy and contribute to a quality enhancement of the paper produced. According to BillerudKorsnäs the investment includes the head box and wire section of the paper machine and will be carried out during 2015.
The investment is a part of the growth agenda Selective Growth for BillerudKorsnäs's Business Area Packaging Paper. It is considered an important step in the development of the Skärblacka production unit and follows an investment of SEK900m in a new evaporation plant and in the upgrade of the existing recovery boiler in 2012.
