With raw material costs rising, prices for coreboard have also gone up this year in Europe. Now Cartiera Merati, one of Italy's leading coreboard producers, has announced another price hike for July.
Italian coreboard producer Cartiera Merati has announced a price increase of 10-12 per cent for all its paperboard grades. The hike is set to apply for deliveries from 1 July on the European and overseas markets.
The company pointed to strong demand for its products and high production costs. Recovered paper prices have declined from the peaks seen in March and April but are still at a relatively high level.
Cartiera Merati has a production site in Laveno-Mombello in northern Italy which has a capacity of 150,000 tpy of coreboard and greyboard.
