Among good supply of brown kraftliner, market experts expect the downward price trend, which started in November last year, to continue in February.
Brown kraftliner prices in Germany might fall further next month. Suppliers and some buyers told EUWID that while it was a buyer's market, there was no massive oversupply. The corrugated industry still had good activity levels, even if bookings were not as strong as they were in the previous year, they said. According to buyers, corrugated board production now has 100 per cent capacity utilisation compared to 115 per cent last year.
However, market players said it remained to be seen what the market would look like at the end of February, when demand returns to normal levels following Christmas and the holidays.
