Easing on German paper markets has not led to price mark-downs

Producers of fine paper are not concerned about signs of softening demand. The market is no longer “burning hot” everywhere, commented one player on the easing of the situation. However, paper mills see no reason to give into occasional calls for price reductions. Instead, they stress that the cost situation remains challenging, which could prompt further price hikes. Prices for contractual deliveries in May remained virtually unchanged compared to April.
