Turkish Hayat Kimya will add 140,000 tpy of tissue capacities to the market. The group will install two new tissue lines in Russia and southern Turkey.
Turkish tissue manufacturer Hayat Kimya has ordered two tissue lines from Metso. The lines would be installed at the group’s new production sites in Yelabuga, Russia and Mersin in southern Turkey, Mesto said. The TM for Russia is scheduled to be put into service in the second half of 2014 while the tissue line to be installed in Turkey is to start up at the end of 2015. The value of the order will not be disclosed.
With this new project, Hayat Kimya will increase its tissue capacities by 140,000 tpy. According to Metso, the two lines have a width of 5.6 m and a design speed of 2,200 m/min and can reach production of 70,000 of facial, toilet and towel grades each.
Hamyat Kimya is based in Yeniköy near Izmit, Turkey where it operates a tissue production and converting plant. The mill houses two tissue machines with a total capacity of 135,000 tpy of tissue and several converting lines with a total capacities of 90,000 tpy of hygiene paper products. Besides Turkey, the key sales markets of Hayat Kimya, who claims to be one of the largest Turkish suppliers, include the Black Sea states such as Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, and the Ukraine.
