Holmen to rebuild PM 52 at Braviken mill for higher CCM capacity and extended book paper range

Holmen plans a SEK450m investment at the company's Braviken mill in Sweden.

Holmen has announced an investment at the Braviken mill in Sweden in order to stengthen its position in the book paper market while increasing production capacity for corrugated case material. According to Holmen, the project is planned for autumn next year at an estimated cost of SEK450m.

The rebuild of the mill's PM 52 is said to enable the company to produce book paper with higher basis weights, extending the product offering for the book paper market,

In addition, production capacity for fluting, a corrugated case material used in the centre layer of corrugated board, is to be increased.

At the Braviken mill Holmen operates two paper machines with a total capacity of more than 600,000 tpy, mostly magazine and book paper made from 100 per cent fresh fibre.
