Prices for coreboard in Italy increased a lot in the last two years. After a period of stability this year, producers tried to raise prices again in September.
Coreboard producers in Italy launched an attempt to raise prices, but were not successful. Players on the market said that several producers divulged plans in September - in official announcements or in talks with customers - about charging more for coreboard in Italy from October onwards.
Several converters felt that these announcements tended to serve to stabilise prices and had an outside chance of success. Suppliers also said in the final week of September that prices would stay the same in October, with most deals having already been concluded at that time.
