Further to the announcement made on 11 July 2012, Mondi Group confirms that all conditions have been satisfied and today it has completed the acquisition of 99.93% of the outstanding share capital of Nordenia International AG.
Mondi acquired Nordenia shares from funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P.1 and minority shareholders for a final cash consideration of EUR259 million. The company said that the acquisition of Nordenia is a unique opportunity to create a leading consumer packaging business, build on long term customer relationships across both businesses and establish a platform to expand further in high‐growth emerging markets.
Mondi is to reorganise its Europe & international division to comprise four units: Uncoated Fine Paper, Packaging Papers, Fibre Packaging and Consumer Packaging. Nordenia will be integrated into the Consumer Packaging unit.
