Norske Skog has announced the conditions for the sale of its idled PM 4 in Walsum: the buyer will not be allowed to produce publication paper grades on the LWC machine.
Norske Skog has started the process of selling the PM 4 of its Walsum mill in Germany. The company said the machine would be sold with a clause of not producing publication paper grades again. US broker Van Tek has been entrusted with the sale and liquidation of the production line, according to Norske Skog.
PM 4 has a width of 7.45 m and a capacity of 225,000 tpy of LWC paper. The machine started up in 1985 and was idled in December 2013 due to overcapacities on the magazine paper market. Norske Skog operates another LWC paper machine in Walsum which can produce up to 200,000 tpy.
