More recycled corrugated case material manufacturers are set to increase their prices for brown paper grades. The companies cite current good demand as the main reason for price hikes.
In January, several European containerboard manufacturers have announced price hikes for brown recycled corrugated case material. Paper mils are asking for a €60-70/t mark-up for all deliveries or orders, effective 1 February.
Germany's Schoellershammer announced a €60/t price increase to Wellenstoff, Fluting, Testliner and other brown recycled containerboard grades for all European markets except for Portugal, Spain, and the UK. According to Schoellershammer, the increase was related to "strong demand for packaging papers" and would "partly compensate for the significant loss of margins in 2016."
DS Smith has informed its customers about a €70/t mark-up to brown recycled containerboard prices. The price hike is set to be implemented for all deliveries as of 1 February in Continental European markets, Spain excluded.
France’s Emin Leydier is planning a €70/t increase for its recycled containerboard prices. The hike would apply to deliveries from 1 February in all European markets except for Spain and the UK, the company said.
Austria's Hamburger Containerboard has informed about its plans to increase prices for brown containerboard orders by €60/t as of 1 February. The mark-up was supported by " the current strong demand and low stocks in the plants," the company announced.
