No year-end downtime scheduled in the recycled paper industry in Poland. December demand for recovered paper expected to be good.
Towards the end of November, the Polish recovered paper (RCP) market appeared to be somewhat more anxious than at any other time so far this year. Prices were stable by-and-large. Sources feared selective price increases for ordinary grades in December.
Insiders said that most recycled paper manufacturers in Poland will not shut down over the Christmas and New Year period since both packaging paper and newsprint manufacturers have very healthy order books. Domestic demand has also expanded considerably compared with last year after the start-up of a new paper machine at Stora Enso's complex in Ostrołęka, which now handles close to 600,000 tpy of recovered paper.
