Russia invites the industry to construct new pulp and paper mills

The Russian government has underlined the significance of its plans for the domestic timber, pulp and paper industries. In order to cover domestic demand and increase exports, it was necessary to modernise and expand the country’s existing capacities, said Mikhail Mishustin, prime minister of the Russian Federation, in a speech he gave at the international Innoprom-2023 exhibition. This includes investments in new, state-of-the-art pulp and paper mills.

The prime minister explained that Russian entrepreneurs today had substantially more options at their disposal. The state was prepared to support Russian companies in the development of those areas that had been occupied by foreign competitors until very recently, he said....
