Sappi's search for a buyer for the Biberist mill and for two of the three fine paper machines turned out to be unsuccessful. Consequently, not only production of coated fine paper but also of uncoated fine paper will be discontinued and the mill will be closed. PM 8 and PM 9 have been shut down already, whereas the production of uncoated fine paper on PM 6 is to be discontinued at the end of August. 550 employess are affected by the closure.
