Schumacher Packaging to build new corrugated board plant in Germany

Strategic investment enables Schumacher Packaging to move production closer to key sales zones such as northwest Germany, Scandinavia and the Benelux countries.

Germany's packaging producer Schumacher Packaging plans to build a new corrugated board and packaging plant at the Airport Park FMO in Greven; north-western Germany, creating some 500 jobs in the long term. The company announced it has already purchased a 100,000 m² and owns an option to add another 35,000 m².

In the first investment phase, Schumacher Packaging will build a 20,000 m² production facility housing a corrugator, four converting lines and different finishing equipment. Construction is planned to begin in spring 2013 while production activities are expected to start in January 2014. The investment volume for the first project stage is estimated at €30-40m.

In the long term, Schumacher Packaging plans to invest another €100m in the new site at Greven and expand the facilities to cover a total of 100,000 m².
