As of autumn 2012, UPM intends to produce coated fine paper sheets at its Finnish Kymi mill in Kouvola. Costs for the expansion of the processing area are earmarked at €15m and work is to begin this autumn. Next to extended reel-handling equipment for PM 8, the project comprises a new sheeting, ream wrapping and pallet packaging line. Up until now, UPM’s Kymi mill had only produced A4 sheets of uncoated fine paper.
