Demand currently outstrips supply on Italy's market for uncoated fine paper. Suppliers have therefore been able to charge more in July.
EUWID sources report that the Italian woodfree uncoated paper market remains strained in July and thus firmly in suppliers' hands. In the light of this situation, manufacturers did not find it hard to implement the higher prices that they announced for deliveries from June or July onwards.
Merchants have been complaining about a reduction in quantities and lengthy lead times for weeks now, especially for C-grade copy paper and sometimes for folio sheets, too. A and B-grade copy paper prices are said to be encountering less upward pressure.
