EU: Anti-dumping proceedings on imports of heavyweight thermal papers from South Korea

The European Commission has initiated anti-dumping proceedings concerning the import of certain heavyweight thermal papers (HWTP) from the Republic of Korea (2019/C 342/08).

The investigation covers the period from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019. The product under investigation is thermal paper with basis weights exceeding 65 g/m², sold in rolls of a width of 20 cm or more, of a roll weight of 50 kg or more and of a roll diameter of 40 cm or more – so-called jumbo rolls. The thermal paper concerned is used in thermal printing in a variety of applications, including self-adhesive labels and laminates, admission tickets and parking tickets. The largest supplier from South Korea is the Hansol Group.
