French corrugated board producers pay more for kraftliner in August

Paper mills are implementing another price hike
for corrugated case materials in Europe.
31 Aug 2021 −

There was no evidence of a summer lull on the French kraftliner market in August.

Robust demand for packaging paper and board reigned supreme in France during the holiday month of August. Against the background of good demand and limited supply, kraftliner manufacturers instituted another increase for brown and white-top kraftliner.

The market situation for recycled corrugated case material and cartonboard was pretty the same as for kraftliner in August. Recycled corrugated case material remained sought-after and lead times for cartonboard were still very long, market sources said.

Manufacturers in both sectors are therefore looking to institute additional mark-ups for deliveries as of September and October after kraftliner prices edged higher in August.
