26 May 2020 −

Market players in France are hoping that steps to ease the restrictions imposed on public life since 11 May mean that several segments of the paper business have passed the bottom of the trough.

While players on the French market for printing and writing papers see first signs of a recovery in May, the cartonboard and cardboard markets are experiencing a calming of activities.

No price discussions are taking place for writing and printing papers, but prices for white packaging board grades, i.e. white-top testliner and, in some cases, for white-lined chipboard, edged higher in May.

Find out more about the development of the French paper and board market in May in our new issue 22/2020, which will be available to our e-paper and print subscribers as of tomorrow.
