Mondi Syktyvkar, part of Mondi Group, has successfully completed a major step in the modernisation of its power plant, with the installation of a new bark boiler.

The installation is part of an investment package of around €135 million, which also includes a new steam turbine and the upgrade of power distribution network. Mondi Syktyvkar worked with Valmet as main equipment supplier in the project.

This investment reduces the mill's CO2 footprint by more than 200.000 tpy – equating to c.4 per cent reduction of CO2 for the entire Mondi Group.
