Mondi to take over Powerflute

03 Jan 2018 −

Corenso group of companies remains part of NPAC Holdings.

Packaging and paper group Mondi will acquire the Finnish containerboard manufacturer Powerflute in a €365m deal. The company has entered into an agreement with Nordic Packaging and Container Holdings (NPAC Holdings) for the acquisition of 100% of the outstanding shares in Powerflute Group Holdings, the holding company of Powerflute and the wood supply company Harvestia, on 22 December 2017.

The deal is expected to close in the first half of this year, if it wins regulatory approval.

Coreboard and cores manufacturer Corenso is not part of the deal with Mondi. NPAC Holdings, a Madison Dearborn Partners (MDP) controlled company, said it would continue to own the Corenso group of companies following the disposal of Powerflute.
