More price hike announcements for BEK pulp

After Fibria and Suzano Papel e Celulose, Ence and Eldorado Brasil have also approached their customers, announcing an increase for eucalyptus pulp for Europe as well as other markets.

Two manufacturers announced they intend to up their bleached eucalpytus kraft (BEK) pulp prices to $940/metr.t in Europe. Spanish producer Ence said it would increase its prices in Europe by $30 as from 1 October, citing strong demand in all markets and low stocks.

Eldorado Brasil, for its part, plans to hike prices by the same amount, so as to reach a price level of $940 in Europe, $1,130 in the US and $760/metr.t in China. In South Korea, prices are to be increased by $50 to $820/metr.t

A little earlier, Fibria and Suzano Papel e Celulose had already announced a price hike of $40 to $940/metr.t for European deliveries to be implemented in October.
