Publication paper producer Norske Skog might enter a new market segment. The company considers to convert a PM at the Skogn site.

Norske Skog is considering converting its PM 3 at the Skogn mill in Norway, which currently produces newsprint. The company did not wish to give further details on the plans and on the products that might be produced at the machine in the future. An article in a regional newspaper, however, says that Norske Skog is examining the possibility to produce board on PM 3.

The PM 3 at the Skogn mill has a capacity of 225,000 tpy of newsprint. It is the biggest machine at the site which has two more machines. PM 1 can produce up to 145,000 tpy and PM 2 to up to 150,000 tpy of newsprint.
