The new Toscotec supplied tissue machine will increase Paloma's tissue paper capacity to 90,000 tpy.

Slovenia's tissue paper and products manufacturer Paloma is proceeding with the planned modernisation and capacity increase project at the mill in Sladki Vrh. According to Paloma and Italy's paper machine and equipment supplier Toscotec, production on Paloma's tissue machine PM 6 was stopped on 22 June and the teams started dismantling the production line to make way for a new Toscotoc-supplied machine PM 9.

The PM 9 has a trimmed width of 5.5 m and operates at 2,000 m/min. Toscotec puts the production capacity at 220 tonnes per day. Paloma plans to produce some 70,000 tpy on the new TM.

Paloma, a member of the SHP Slovak Hygienic Paper group, had ordered the new tissue production line including stock preparation last summer and originally planned to start the installation work in March 2020. Production start-up was scheduled for June 2020.
