25 Nov 2021 −

German Schumacher Packaging Group is planning the biggest ever capex project in the company's history: By 2025, Schumacher will invest approximately €700m and create 500 new jobs.

Germany will be the main target of the plans, with an investment of €300m and more than 250 new jobs.

Approximately €400m will be directed towards the expansion of existing plants. The corrugated board plant in Greven, Germany, will be expanded to become a mega-facility with an annual capacity of 600 million m² by 2022, and thus quicker than originally planned.

The expansion of the company's own paper capacities has also been brought forward to 2022/2023. Schumacher has earmarked €300m for the investment in new paper plants.
