Pratt Industries has placed an order with Valmet for the supply of a containerboard paper machine at the greenfield paper mill in Valparaiso, USA.
The mill will utilize recovered paper in the production of recycled linerboard and corrugated medium. The start-up of the new paper machine, PM16, is scheduled for 2015. According to Valmet, the new machine will have a wire width of 6.25 m and a design speed of 1,200 m/min.
In autumn 2013, Pratt Industries announced the construction of a new recycled containerboard mill adjacent to Pratt's existing corrugated box plant in Valparaiso in the US state of Indiana. The mill, which is scheduled to start production in July 2015, will add 325,000 tpy (360,000 sh.t) of recycled containerboard to Pratt Industries' paper capacity.
