Production at Arauco's Alto Paraná pulp mill temporarily down

Chile‘s pulp producer Celulosa Arauco y Constitución (Arauco) had temporariy stopped production at its Alto Paraná pulp mill in Argentina’s Misiones province on 3 March due to a problem with the mill’s turbo generator.

The Alto Paraná mill produces 350,000 tpy of bleached softwood pulp and fluff pulp.The pulp mill was expected to be out of operation until the first week in April, Arauco explained to EUWID. The company did not comment on the resulting loss of production.

Arauco runs pulp mills in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. After the commissioning of Arauco’s new bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp line in Chile, the group's total capacity comes close to 4.5 million tpy.
