Europac's Spanish Dueñas site will be modernised and expanded. The company plans to invest €35m in the plant and implement several optimisation measures, which will, amongst others, increase its capacities.
Spanish packaging group Europac has announced an investment of €35m to be spent on its Dueñas packaging plant in Spain until 2018. Besides several modernisation measures, the company plans to extend the plant's portfolio and increase efficiency as well as capacities.
The plant's capacity is to be increased by 32%, according to Europac. The site produces paper as well as boxes. In the paper division, the final phase of a longer lasting project is to be concluded. Europac says it will start with the production of double layer coated paper.
The company also plans to optimise the corrugated line at Dueñas, to develop a smart warehouse and to install a new printer. Furthermore, €2.5m are to be invested to modify the wastewater treatment plant at the site and adapt it to the new European environmental standards which will come into force in 2018.
Europac operates three packaging plants in Spain of which two are integrated. The group as a whole has the capacity to produce 1.05 million t of paper - including kraftliner and recycled corrugated case material - and 810 million m² of cardboard sheets and boxes in its plants located in Spain, Portugal, France and Morocco.
