Paperworkers' Union announced two more weeks of industrial action at UPM mills in Finland.

The strike of unionised paper workers at UPM mills which started on 1 January continues and is slated to last for two more weeks. According to the latest announcement by the Finnish paperworkers' Union (Paperliitto), the strike is to be extended until 16 April, unless a new collective agreement is reached before then.

Negotiations between UPM and employee representatives have been held at different occasions but all attempts to resolve the labour dispute did not yield success so far. Talks between the two parties, however, will continue under mediation and conciliation procedure.
