Groupe IPE acquires French corrugated packaging producer

23 Mar 2012 −

Groupe IPE carries out a strategic acquisition in France. After Lacaux Frères, the group now acquires Cartonnerie de l'Espérance and Cartonnages Champenois and does not exclude further takeovers in the sector.

French industry holding Groupe IPE has taken over corrugated packaging producer Cartonnerie de l'Espérance as well as the associated distributor Cartonnages Champenois and thus strengthens its position in the packaging sector. The holding already acquired Lacaux Frères, an integrated manufacturer of corrugated packaging, approximately three months ago. The group said it would continue observing build-up opportunities in the sector.

The Reims-based Cartonnerie de l’Espérance is a manufacturer of corrugated board products including corrugated wine packaging boxes. The company operates two production lines with a total annual capacity of 4,000 t and employs 19 people. The nearby Cartonnages Champenois has been part of the company since 2005. The site has a storage building and provides storage and distribution services.
