23 Jan 2020 −

New pulp capacity "creates the conditions for the construction of another paper machine", says Kurt Maier, CEO of Heinzel Group.

Heinzel Group is investing around €42m to increase pulp production at its site in Pöls, Austria. As a result of the investment, Heinzel will be able to manufacture up to 100,000 t of unbleached pulp, which can be used for the production of brown kraft paper. The new capacity is scheduled to come onstream by the end of 2021, Heinzel says. Last year, the company already doubled brown kraft paper capacity in Pöls to 200,000 tpy.
