Mayr-Melnhof has put its new corrugated packaging plant in Poland into operation. Test runs are currently being conducted.

Austrian Mayr-Melnhof Group has started operations at its new packaging plant in Poland. A company spokesperson confirmed to EUWID that test runs at the site in Bydgoszcz had started in March and the facilities would reach full capacity in the course of the month.

The plant is specialised in the production of corrugated folding cartons and is located near Mayr-Melnhof’s existing plant in the same town. The company’s overall capacities in Bydgoszcz will be around one third higher thanks to the commissioning of the new machine.

According to a statement released by the city of Bydgoszcz, Mayr-Melnhof has invested more than PLN50m (€12m) to build the plant which is the company’s third plant in Poland. Mayr-Melnhof reportedly plans to hire 100 people.
